Interviewing people is always an interesting exercise. Today I had the pleasure of interviewing candidates for Baton Rouge’s upcoming School Board seats. As members of Future Pac, the Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce’s political action committee, one of our duties is to recruit and support candidates who share our pro-business, economic development agenda. One of the biggest drawbacks to attracting more business to our area is the quality of our school system. I am happy to report we had several extremely good candidates from which to choose. Everyone we interviewed had a passion for the children of Baton Rouge, their education and their futures. I encourage our citizens to get involved in the education issue; know who is running for the School Board, what they stand for and make sure you vote in this important race.
