Do you ever wonder who’s behind the thousands of airport restaurants around the world? In some cases, it’s a celebrity chef. Here are a few of the restaurants to try if you happen to be traveling to or through London, Boston, or Gatwick in the future.
1. Gordon Ramsey’s Plane Food at London Heathrow Airport
Gordon Ramsey is a British celebrity chef with more than a dozen Michelin stars. The almost decade old restaurant Plane Food at London Heathrow features a raw bar, main dishes such as rib eye steak and rigatoni pasta, and even a full breakfast menu.
“Following on from the major redesign and refurbishment, diners can enjoy a new Asian bar, where chefs prepare dishes in front of guests in an open kitchen,” shared Gordon Ramsey’s website.
2. Wolfgang Puck’s Wolfgang Puck Express at Boston Logan International Airport
According to celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck’s website, his airport restaurants are designed to offer his signature cuisine at an affordable price point. You can try out the chef’s fast-casual dining option Wolfgang Puck Express at Boston Logan International Airport.
“Designed with efficiency for the traveler in mind, Wolfgang Puck airport restaurants and grab & go kiosks feature the chef’s interpretation of global comfort fare, using the best available, locally-sourced ingredients.”
Puck Express can also be found in several other locations such as airports in Chicago, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles.
3. Jamie Oliver’s Jamie’s Italian at Gatwick Airport
Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, originally from England, has a restaurant in the Gatwick Airport that sources fresh ingredients to create the rustic dishes offered that include pastas and pizzas.
In 2016, Jamie’s Italian had more than 40 locations across England and had plans for expansion into the United States, bringing more traditional Italian dishes to more people around the world.
