Po' Boys, Oysters, Beignets, Creole Tomatoes - New Orleans seemingly has a festival for EVERYTHING! We celebrate food and drink big here in the Crescent City and it's almost shocking that a festival dedicated to fried chicken wasn't inaugurated until 2016. Back again this year, with a bigger and better venue, the Fried Chicken Festival sponsored by Raising Cane's is a free outdoor festival that brings food, music, family and festivities together in celebration of the classic Southern dish!

Quickly outgrowing its previous location at Lafayette Square, the Fried Chicken Fest is heading to Woldenberg Park located along the banks of the Mississippi River. The festival features events including the Fried Chicken Tenders Eating Contest and the Best Fried Chicken Contest,  judged by local and national food writers, bloggers and critics.

The 2017 festival will feature 35 national vendors, along with celebrity chefs and the Moet Chicken and Champaign VIP Lounge. This year’s vendors include: Bayou Hot Wings, Dunbar's, Fiorella's Cafe, Willie Mae's Scotch House and more. For more updates on food vendors, stay tuned to Fried Chicken Festival’s official website here.

A variety of locally and nationally renowned musicians will entertain festival goers throughout the day on two stages. Performers include Big Freedia, Naughty Professor, Big Sam’s Funky Nation and more! To see the full line up, click here

Other experiences at the festival include a Sucré Sweet Spot Lounge to indulge in your sweet tooth, an AT&T and Best Buy Football Fan Zone to watch NFL Football, a Louisiana Federation for Children Kids’ Coop with activities, and GoNOLA’s Mist and Chill Lounge.

Parking near Woldenberk Park is available in nearby garages or very limited metered street parking. It’s also easily accessible from both the Canal Street and Riverfront streetcar lines, as well as by pedicab, taxi or rideshare.
