Coquette
Have you ever been to a restaurant and not had a single bad bite of food or sip of wine? That's how we feel when we visit Coquette, a Garden District restaurant that offers innovative southern cuisine with an emphasis on locally sourced products. Coquette is definitely not inexpensive, but worth every penny. The menus are printed daily, offering small and large plates, and even a blind tasting option. The bartenders are also extremely knowledgeable about the wine list and happy to suggest pairings.
The Sculpture Garden at New Orleans Museum of Art
The Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden sprawls across five acres in City Park, a mainly open green space that is larger than Central Park in New York. Beyond the beautiful sculptures, artwork and bodies of water throughout the garden, the best part about the space is that it's completely free of charge (although the museum itself charges an entry fee). Feel free to stroll solo around beginning at 10:00am every day of the week until 5:00pm on weekdays and 6:00pm on weekends. Through the museum, you can sign up for a free audio tour of the Sculpture Garden, which is a serene place for all solo travelers!
